How to Choose the Right Interior Colors for Your New Tropicana Home

Did you just purchase a new Tropicana home? Now that all the paperwork is out of the way, it’s time to add some personal touches! Deciding where and how to place your furniture and art is exciting, but choosing a color scheme for each room can be a process. Selecting interior colors doesn’t have to be stressful. It can even be the fun part of your home makeover! Here are some things to consider.

Examine External Factors

To optimize your color design, you’ll have to take a lot of things into consideration, like the size of the space, the furniture you want to place in the room, and how much light the area receives. The colors you choose for your home are likely going to be what you look at for the next several years. To be sure that you’re choosing the right color scheme for your home, try putting different paint swatches on your walls and furniture in the room to see how they look throughout the day. You can even use color matching software to create custom paint colors to get the perfect color for your room!

Gain Inspiration from Your Furniture

You likely already have furniture or ideas about what you want in your house. If you’ve decided on which furniture you want to place in each room, you can gather some similarly-colored items and pieces that complement them.  When it comes to painting the room, choose a statement piece you want to accentuate and build your color palette around that.

Create a Mood

You can select an aesthetic and design your room based on the feeling you want it to evoke. Colors can affect our mood, so be strategic and pick a color that makes sense for the function of the room. Blues have a calming effect that will help you relax in your living room. Yellows are welcoming and cheerful, perfect for entryways and bedrooms. Neutrals can bring warmth and elegance to any office or bathroom.

Interior Colors You’ll Love for Years to Come

It’s important to remember you don’t have to be bound by any rules or established color schemes. When deciding on interior colors, pick something you like that you think is a good fit for the space you are working with. You can always change it up if you decide it’s not the look you wanted.
